Iphone 4 switch off button not working
So the effect is the same as here, as if there is no actuator helper, as a further recess is created. It worked like a charm! Great tutorial! Upon disassembly, I found all the pieces of the original contact separated with the yellow tape torn. I reread your instructions multiple times as it was hard to digest that I had to separate the new contact into sections, but I finally grabbed an X-Acto knife and worked the contacts with tape loose from the tiny circuit board.
Tiny problems – How to fix an iPhone 4 power button click-issue | Gregor van Egdom
All went well and this microsurgery worked perfectly! The button operates and feels as new! It took about an hour due to my disbelief, but if I had to do it again, it might only require 30 — 40 minutes. Anyway the button feel would have been worse with elastic material. I ended up soldering some solder tin onto the metal button.

Hello, the ribbon from the power button flex cable is ripped. Could I fix it with adhesive tape wrapped around? Thank you!
The traces on the cable are probably ripped as well… A new power button is a few dollars on eBay though! Hi there. All works well. I guess any glue which dries hard and non-tacky, and is not electrically conductive will work. Why your Nexus 5 is stuck in boot loop Gregor van Egdom. Your email address will not be published.

Kwopau Kwopau. My phone just will not turn on. It was charged and completely working one minute.
The next minute, I pressed the home key to check the time and nothing happened. I tried the power button and still nothing. I don't understand what's going on. I've been trying all day to get my phone to turn back on but nothing is working.
I'm taking it in to the Apple Store tomorrow to have it looked at. What could it be? This normally cures this type of problem which is going to occur from time to time. All computers crash from time to time. I think I'm just going to go to the Apple store and have a Genius check it out.
As far as this being a "common problem" My iphone went dead exactly the same way and I had to reset it. Its happened twice with me already and thats just within a span of 1 week from purchase.

My OS version is 4. Can this be an operating system bug or some conflict with any of the apps we might be using? If anyone gets some further info, do share here please. Elo Elo Same here. I was going on vacation and just normally using my iPhone, then I tried pressing my sleep button and it's wiggly. It's really hard to to make it go sleep now.
I never dropped my phone either. It's weird to know that someone else has the same problem. What do I do? I am still on hold after 48 minutes with Rogers technical support after my phone just stopped working.
On/Off Button doesn't work! iPhone permanently on.
At first I thought it had just drained the battery, but when I plugged it in to charge, nothing happened. The biggest drawback to a broken power button is that you can no longer turn off the screen to put the phone to sleep or power off the device to conserve the battery. After a few weeks of accidental butt dials and dead batteries, I stumbled upon this posting at GrownUpGeek by Randy Brown.
It turns out that you can lock an iPhone or power it off without touching the power button when you enable AssistiveTouch in the Accessibility options. Now that your iPhone is sleep mode, just tap the home button to wake it up. If you turned off your iPhone using the power-off slider button, you will need to plug in the device using your charging cable in order to power it back on.
